Visceral Manipulation (VM)
This modality directly addresses the strains in the connective tissue of the viscera (organ) that can result from surgery, medication, substance abuse, illness or injury and assists the body to fully restore the organ/s function and re-establish overall balance.
Visceral restrictions have been associated with musculoskeletal disorders because of their intimate and complex fascial connection with the body’s skeletal framework; examples include intestinal restrictions leading to low back pain, angina referring pain to the shoulder and women experiencing frozen shoulder as they turn menopausal.
Specific VM techniques are used to identify and address these restrictions through gentle organ manipulation. The goal of VM is to encourage the body towards self-correction to improve the organ’s function, dissipate the negative effects of stress, enhance mobility of the musculoskeletal system and influence general metabolism improvement.
