Sports Massage (SM)

This modality involves soft tissue manipulation to help a person recover from injuries or fatigue as a result of repetitive and/or strenuous physical activity e.g. marathon event.

 

SM could also be applied before an event as a measure to prep the body for activity; SM includes stretching, brisk tissue massage and Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) and Muscle Energy Technique (MET).

 

SM is beneficial for those clients regularly excising resulting in injury or soreness, weekend warriors and professional athletes.
